An international team of researchers matched patients" phenotype data with deidentified EHR data to map associations between certain diseases and human leukocyte antigen mutations, and the results are posted on a free website. Among the findings the researchers reported in Science Translational Medicine were newfound associations between HLA mutations and both cervical cancer and multiple sclerosis, as well as confirmation of earlier research linking HLA mutations to type 1 diabetes.
